COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN (CAD) printing is now available in Negros Oriental State University (NORSU).
Drawing
plans done in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revits can now be
printed at the University Engineer’s office in NORSU Main Campus I.
University
Engineer Samuel Arbas said that the new HP Design Jet 500 Plus plotter,
which costs P173,000, is not just for instructional purposes of the
university but is also open for interested outsiders who want quality
printouts of their designs.
Arbas said that customers must see
him first for the issuance of print order before paying for the
printing fee at the cashier’s office. Black ink printing on a 20x30
inches tracing paper costs P170 per sheet for outsiders and P100 for
Norsunians, while printing on a 42x30 inches tracing paper costs P250
per sheet for outsiders and P150 for Norsunians. He added that the
printing costs already include the tracing paper.
For colored
printing, Arbas said that printing on a 20x30 inches tracing paper
costs P300 per sheet for outsiders and P200 for Norsunians, while a
42x30 inches sheet costs P500 and P350, for outsiders and Norsunians
respectively.
Arbas disclosed that the new plotter is a great
help to the university as well as to engineering and architecture
students who can avail of the discounted printing service. Student
Government of Dumaguete City II President Mark Cabrera and Aster
Fortuito III, both BS Civil Engineering students, are the ones
in-charge in the printing operation.
The CAD plotting, though in demand, is still a rare service in the city as of press time. |
